SIPHANDON TRIP (4 days / 3 nights)

Day 1 Vientiane - Pakse – Vat Phou – Don Khong

In the very early morning you will be taken from Villa Manoly to the Vientiane Airport for the 50 minutes flight to Pakse, the main city in the Champassak Province. Upon arrival your guide takes you on a beautiful drive to the Champassak island and the ruins of the Hindu temple Vat Phou, an UNESCO World Heritage site. Vat Phou is regarded by many as an outstanding example of Khmer architecture left standing. After enjoying Vat Phou you will visit other nearby Khmer temples and buddhist shrines. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Champasak. After lunch the tour continues to Khong Island (Don Khong) by road. On arrival in the late afternoon, check- in at your hotel, Villa Muang Khong, where you will enjoy your dinner. Overnight at Villa Muang Khong .

Day 2 Khong Island – Khone Falls - Deth Island

This day you will enjoy a boat cruise venturing into the widest reach of the Mekong River where thousands of islets can be seen in the dry season, giving this area the lovely name Si Phan Don, which means “four thousand islands”. On the cruise we stop at the Liphi waterfalls and the fishing village of Ban Don Khone. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant on Don Khone, from where we go to the Cambodian border to enjoy the sight of the Khone Phapheng (Khone Falls) which is one of South East Asia’s biggest waterfalls. In the late afternoon you will go on another boat trip to, hopefully, get a glimpse of the very rare Irrawaddy dolphins that live here. After return to the hotel the dinner will be served at the Bounpond Restaurant in Khong Island. Overnight at Villa Muang Khong.

Day 3 Khong Island – Tad Fan - Pakse

In the morning we continue the tour of the south heading for the Tad Fan waterfalls at the Bolaven plateau. The Bolaven plateau is famous for its tea and coffee plantations and other lush vegetation. En route, there are opportunities to visit some hill villages of the Katu, Alack and Nge ethnic minorities. Lunch is served at a local restaurant near the waterfalls. After touring this spectacular mountainous area you check in and enjoy dinner at the Pakse Hotel.

Day 4: Pakse - Vientiane

After breakfast, you will be taken to Pakse Airport for the morning flight back to Vientiane. On arrival in Vientiane you will be transferred to Villa Manoly.
